Week of August 29th , 2010

Daily Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Monday thru Thursday at 11:45AM and on Friday at 8:00AM. Note the change back to the normal Daily Liturgy schedule now that school has resumed.

Wednesday the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in Spanish at 6:00 PM.

Thursday evening at 6:30PM the group Passion Domini will meet for adoration and devotions to the Passion of our Lord.

First Friday Adoration is scheduled this week on September 3rd . The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed following the 8:00 AM Liturgy until 7:30 PM. Note that the Sanctity of Life Group meets for prayer at 12:30 PM; the Family of Mariam Mother of Life meets at 6:00 PM; Confraternity of the Sacred Heart meets at 6:30 PM.

Next Sunday, September 5 th we will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at 5:00 PM in Arabic.

We are now offering Bible Study in Arabic hosted in the homes of our friends and families. Every Fourth Friday we hold this study at 7:00 pm. If you are interested in attending or hosting this please contact the church office.

St Ephrem Church is now accepting registration for the First Communion 2 year curriculum of classes. Please contact the office for more information. Registration forms available in the foyer of the church or you can download forms from the website. Classes begin September 19 th. Mandatory parent meeting is scheduled for September 12 immediately following the 11:00AM Liturgy.

Interested in teaching your children how to read, write and speak Arabic? If yes, then sign up for the St. Ephrem Language & Religious Education School which offers Arabic classes as well as religious education. Flyer and registration form available in the church foyer. Registration and 1 ST day of school begins Sept 18, 2010 at 9:00 am.

St. Ephrem Academy is in need of laptops for their student computer lab that is being implemented this year. If you have any to donate please contact the church office or the director of the Academy. Your donation is tax deductible. Consider this a way of supporting our parish school; it means so much to all the children.

We are looking for volunteers for the gift-shop. We would like to expand our hours of operation and need to have volunteers willing to commit to manning the shop. Please contact Mrs. Elizabeth Pifer (619-447-1286), our new Church Volunteer Coordinator to sign up for a time slot.
